Donna Jean KolarDonna Jean Kolar, 94, passed away at 2 a.m. Aug. 13, 2016, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Kosciusko County, to Idyl D. and Faye Leiter Hoffer. On June 30, 1945, in Iowa City, Iowa, she married Chester G. Kolar, who preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1984.

She was a 1939 graduate of Warsaw High School. A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was employed over a period of 75 years as a legal secretary and financial secretary; and retired in 1992 as the financial secretary at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, reading music and playing bridge. She was a member of First United Methodist Church since she was 13 years of age, and was a member of the church choir for 40 years.

Surviving are a son: Timothy (Sally) Kolar, Warsaw; two grandsons: Jon (Melisa) Tyler, Leesburg; and Tim (Shiela) Tyler, Aruba, Caribbean; five great-grandchildren: Luke; Lily; Rachel; Jacob; and Rebeka Tyler; a brother: Max Hoffer, Noblesville; two nieces: Janis (Stanley) Sutton; and Kristine (Kim) Akers, all of Noblesville; and four nephews: Larry Hoffer, Leesburg; Dan; Paul; and Ron Hoffer, all of Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her father: Idyl D. Hoffer, who died Nov. 25, 2002; mother; Faye Hoffer-Stickler, who died Nov. 25, 2002; stepfather: Joe Stickler, who died Aug. 3, 1973; and her brother: Rex Hoffer, who died May 25, 1991.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Stanley Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling is from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at the funeral home.
