Valley Golf: Vikings Drop Pair

Tippy Valley SportsROCHESTER – The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team fell to Northwestern and Peru Tuesday in a three-way match at the Round Barn Golf Course.

Northwestern, led by medalist Emily Martin, posted a team score of 184. Peru came in at 232, while the host Vikings shot 245 on the day.

Martin earned individual medalist honors with a 40.

Victoria Biddle led the way for the Vikings with a 53. Makayla Sandbakken shot a season-best score of 55 for Valley. Blake McBrier finished with a 63, while Lexi Cumberland shot a 74 and Jade VanMeter a 77 for the Vikings.

The Valley varsity, now 1-3 on the season, will host Northfield Thursday back at Round Barn.

The Valley junior varsity lost to Northwestern 228-293. Bethany Johnson and Brianna McBrier each shot a 71 to lead the Valley JV squad. Jordan Krotke finished with a 73 and Kelsey Shafer a 78 for the Vikings, now 1-1.
