
Cecil H. Paulus, 86, Leesburg, passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at his home.
He was born on April 25, 1930 in Pierceton, to Cecil H. and Rachel Ann (Friend) Paulus.
He grew up in Columbia City and graduated in 1948 from Columbia City High School. He was a United States Navy veteran and lived most of his life in the North Webster and Leesburg area. On Dec. 15, 1951 in North Webster, he married Doris J. Gaff, who survives. He was the owner and operator of Paulus Plastics and former owner and operator of Paulus Well Drilling in North Webster for 60 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, V.F.W Post 985 in Goshen and attended the United Methodist Church in North Webster.
He is survived by his wife: Doris Paulus, Leesburg; his daughter: Monna (Rick) Baum, Warsaw; two sons: Chris (Anna) Paulus, Leesburg; Ken (Ellen) Paulus, Leawood, Kan.; ten grandchildren: Kristin (Luke) Balcerzak, Kelly (Ryan) Neimier, Katie (Jason Conley) Paulus, Jessica Paulus, Abbi Baum, Kate Paulus, Trevor Paulus, Tommy Paulus, Wade Paulus, and Jeremy Baum; three great grandchildren: Aiden, Brooks and Hudson
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Steven Paulus, sister: Betty Minnick, and brother: Eugene Paulus.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, at the Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 in the funeral home with Pastor Kent Butcher of the Vineyard Community Church & Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will take place in the North Webster Cemetery with military graveside rites by the North Webster American Legion.
