Tippecanoe Valley wore wristbands with BIBS on them in honor of fallen friend Scott Bibler, who was laid to rest Sunday.

WARSAW – For all of the sadness that was the passing of the four gentlemen in October, there were also a lot of fond memories. Of the legacies left behind was the insatiable spirit of Scott Bibler, and another way to capture his spirit is being put together for late August.

The Scott Bibler Sweet Sassy Golf Classic is being created not only to honor the legacy of one of Tippecanoe Valley’s true heroes, but also to help reward the character of those who continue to contribute to the Valley community.

The golf scramble is set for Saturday, Aug. 27, at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw. Proceeds from the outing will be poured into a “Bibs Memorial Scholarship”, a component fund of the Kosciusko County Community Fund.

The outing itself if a four-person scramble that features lunch at 11:30 and first tee at 1 p.m. The top two teams will receive prizes as well as the longest drive and closest to the pin contests on the course. Registration is $280 per team which includes golf, lunch, a T-shirt and prizes.

Registration can be done online at www.sweetsassygolfouting.com and the committee asks registration be received by Aug. 5. If the outing receives over 36 teams, a morning session could be created, to which teams will be notified about a potential choice of sessions.

The outing is also looking for sponsorships, which can be had for $150 per hole. More information on sponsorships can also be found at the event website.
