ELKHART – Area fans of fast pitch softball are in for a treat.

Riverview Park in Elkhart will play host to the Amateur Softball Association’s Men’s Open East National Championships from Aug. 26-28.

The event will be the first national level tournament hosted by the four-diamond facility, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

A total of up to 20 teams are expected to take part in the three-day tournament. Area teams already slated to play include the Goshen Gators, DC Outlaws from Bremen, Wabash Pride and Anderson Lawmen.
