MILAN — Italian police say they found the body of missing airman, Staff Sgt. Halex Hale.

His body was found by the Livenza river.

According to the release, the body was spotted around 9:30 a.m. local time by a citizen. They immediately contacted the police.

He was found less than a kilometer away from the site of his disappearance.

His father and a member of the military confirmed his identity.

The cause of death has not been released.
