
SYRACUSE — A variety of activities are going on next week at the Syracuse Public Library.
Devotees of the Magic Kingdom are invited to a presentation to discuss deals, plans and favorite experiences at Disney World. A family program that is a Disney love fest is scheduled on Monday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Syracuse Library. Join a couple with experiences from many yearly trips to the attractions at Disney World. They will share tips about inside tours, free promotions and best deals.
Mark’s Ark is bringing a petting zoo on Tuesday, July 12 at 2 p.m. Everyone in the room gets an up-close experience with Mark’s animals.
Young people are doing minute-to-win-it food games for the last summer reading teen times. Teens are invited to come to the last game day on Wednesday, July 13 at 2 p.m. Food will be eaten, prepared and played with during the final party. The BINGO rewards for teens is offered through July 30, and a bonus drawing from fully completed sheets will award a Kindle Fire to the winner.
Here is an idea for a fitness regimen: walk the Appalachian Trail. Bill Bryson has become a veteran author of books about travel and hiking in particular. One of his earliest and most successful books is a chronical of the year he spent hiking the Appalachian Trail with his college friend. The duo toughens up as they go, but A Walk in the Woods is fairly light reading. A discussion of the book is part of the One Book, One Hour book club meeting on Wednesday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Come do the bricks. Lego Build is inviting anyone that wants to build one of the library’s many kits to come on Saturday, July 16 at 11 a.m. Freeform Legos are also available.
