Carolyn E. Bohnstedt, 79, Milford, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1937 in Pierceton, to Russell Leroy and Mary Jean (Meredith) Barnhart.

She graduated in 1955 from Pierceton High School and lived most of her life in Pierceton and Larwill area before moving to Milford in 1974. She was married on Dec. 24, 1954 in Pierceton, to Richard G. “Dick” Bohnstedt who survives. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Lamplight Restaurant in Pierceton and 6 & 15 Restaurant in New Paris.

She formerly attended the Mt. Tabor Church of God in Nappanee. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, collecting state quarters & stamps, and loved cats.

She is survived by her husband; her two daughters: Debra (Gary) HIll, Milford; Sharon (Ben) Reed, Greentown; a son: Dan (Shawn) Bohnstedt, Milford; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a brother: Bill (Janet) Barnhart, Avilla. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Jeffrey Bohnstedt; and sister: Rosalie Hartman.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Ross Osborn of the Trier Ridge Community Church of God in Fort Wayne officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.
