NORTH WEBSTER — Lakeland Quilt Club will host Donna Kooistra of Heirloom Quilt Appraisals 10 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 . at the Tippecanoe Township Building, 102 S. Morton St., North Webster. She will speak and do quilt appraisals.

Guests are welcome. Written appraisals are $50 per quilt and are very important for insurance purposes. Verbal appraisals are $30.

Kooistra appraises newly constructed quilts, antique, traditional and non-traditional quilts for insurance replacement value, fair market value, and donation value.

For many years, she has participated in classes and lectures on fabric dating and identification, technique, construction, documentation, ethics, and current trends to determine values of quilted textiles offered by national quilt organizations as well as those by local shops and appraisers.

Lakeland Quilt Club meets at the Tippecanoe Township Building on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. It is located across the West Washington Street from the Mermaid Festival Grounds.
