Roger L. BoocherRoger L. Boocher, 73, Paoli, formerly of Sidney and Columbia City, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2016, in Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born March 19, 1943, in Whitley County, to Oscar & Eileen (Miller) Boocher. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1961. On Sept. 30, 2005, he married Judy Hill Oliver.

Roger retired from Essex Corporation, Fort Wayne, in 2003 after 34 years of service. He was employed with White Metal Rolling and Stamping, Warsaw, from 1961-1968. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines and was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter. Roger was a counsel member of the Wildwood Association, Paoli.

He is survived by his wife: Judy Boocher, Paoli; son: Brian (Rita) Boocher, Claypool; daughter: Robin Boocher Garrard, Claypool; stepsons: Neil (Ann) Gordon, Hudson; Larry (Michele) Gordon, Columbia City; and Tracy (Wendy) Biehl, Andrews; brothers: Dick Boocher, South Whitley; and Robert (Tammy) Boocher, Pierceton; sister: Marilyn (James) Perryman, Portage; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. One stepson: Matthew Hill is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
