MILFORD — Milford Police Department is reporting residents have received postcards in the mail, which are titled “Notice of Reward” this is a scam.

Police are asking residents to please not respond to this offer as you will be victimized. The offer promises $100 in savings at Wal-Mart, Target and many other stores.

The scammers require a processing payment from a credit card and then additional unauthorized charges are made to the victim’s accounts. Residents do not need to contact the police if such a postcard is received. The officers within the department are aware that this scam has surfaced in the community.
