FULTON COUNTY — Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz recently gathered with Fulton County school superintendents in a meeting facilitated by Fulton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Roe.

The meeting focused on building a supportive relationship with Ritz for the purpose of furthering public education in Fulton County while recognizing the unique needs of Indiana’s rural schools. Topics included equity in funding for rural schools, the establishment of pre-kindergarten programs within all public school districts, how to improve the recruitment and retention of quality teachers, needed changes in Indiana’s school accountability system and the implementation of a new student-centered assessment system that supports teaching and learning while requiring less time for testing.
