New York Cyclist Dies From Injuries Sustained In Mentone Crash

MENTONE — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has released information that the bicyclist from the Sunday evening crash in Kosciusko County has died.
Allen County officials stated that Dung Nguyen, 45, Astoria, N.Y., died Monday, June 6, of injuries that he sustained after being struck by an automobile late Sunday evening, June 5, along SR 19 in southeastern Kosciusko County.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office advised notification to family members has been completed and explained this was the reasoning for delaying the official notification of his death, with the cooperation of the Kosciusko County FACT Team and Sheriff’s Department. The Allen County Coroner also stated Nguyen died from blunt force trauma from the crash, which occurred at approximately 10:03 p.m. on SR 19, near the intersection of CR 600S. It is currently unknown his exact destination or travel history prior to the fatality.
