Garnet Rose RayGarnet Rose Ray, 75, Plymouth, passed away at 12:08 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016, surrounded by family.

Rose was born on Sept. 23, 1940, in Bremen, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Kuntz) Nick. On April 26, 1993, she married Jackie Dean Ray. He passed away on May 23.

She is survived by six children: Cheryl (Melvin) Hochstetler, Bremen; Kenneth (Vanessa) Smith, Yukon, Okla.; Deb Steinbauer, Union, Mich.; Rodney (Michelle) Smith, Bremen; Jim (Debbie) Smith, Bremen; and Tracy (Wade) Kertai, Bremen. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Penny Rose Cody; grandson: Kenneth Hochstetler; sister: Zatha Cox; and brother: Edward E. “Hambone” Nick, Jr.

Rose was a member of the Bremen VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She loved gardening her flowers, fishing and enjoyed time with her pets.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 10, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Services will follow at noon in the funeral home with burial to follow in Bremen Cemetery.
