Bill C. Bay, 76, Rochester, passed away at 6:59 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1939, in Ochelata, Okla., the son of Ben and Helen (Miller) Bay. He served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. On March 5, 1994, he married Darlene Alber at their home and she survives.

Bill retired after 40 years as a semi-truck driver. He was a member of the Rochester Eagles. Bill was a certified pilot and enjoyed flying. He also enjoyed sailing, riding horses, mowing his yard and his neighbors’ yards, and spending time with his family.

Survivors includes his wife: Darlene Bay, Rochester; children: Rolland Bay, Carlisle; Raelene Bay (companion Denise Bogan), Fla.; Claudene Bay, Rochester; grandchildren: Dalton Shultz; and Tyler Shultz; stepgrandson: Paul Bogan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Jim Bay; and Ben Bay.

Private services will be observed. Interment will take place at Athens Cemetery, Athens. Memorial contributions may be made to South Bend Children’s Hospital or Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis. Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
