WARSAW — It was a short meeting for the Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety this morning Friday, June 3. Business consisted of signing of a contract, pay applications on two projects, travel requests and payroll reports.

Mayor Joe Thallemer started the meeting by inviting individuals to cross the street to donate blood at the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. He also offered an invitation to the unveiling of 20 Walk-N-Wander statutes tonight during the First Friday celebration.

During the business part of the meeting, the board approved payment to VS Engineering Inc., Indianapolis, in the amount of $11,685.57. This is for the design of East Market Street phase two. Jeremy Skinner, city planner, stated engineering work will continue throughout the year. He stated phase two will have the same design concept as the West Market Street project. “It won’t be much different.”

Two payments to A&Z Engineering LLC, Fort Wayne, were approved. One payment, for $3,800, was for right of way acquisition services on the Husky Trail Project. The second payment, $3,996.50, is for engineering services on the Husky Trail Project.

Skinner noted on both projects, with the exception of the engineering costs for the Husky Trail Roundabout, the city will receive 80 percent reimbursement from the federal reimbursement program.
