Iris M. Anderson Thompson, 100, Mentone, passed at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1916, in Plymouth, to Roy and Ruby (York) Shearer.

She married Earl Anderson, she then married Paul Thompson who preceded in 1995.

Iris worked for Farmers State Bank for 24 years, retiring in 1988. She was a 1934 graduate of West Township High School, Plymouth. She was a member of the Mentone United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she had been Worthy Matron.

She is survived by sons: Dennis (Mary) Anderson, Warsaw; Roy “Fred” (Darlene) Anderson, Mentone; Phil (Diana) Anderson, Argos; Jim Anderson, Argos; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Thompson; a grandson: Kevin Anderson; brothers: Dwayne Shearer; and Merald Shearer; as well as sisters: Margaret Lawrence; and Norma Ayers.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten will be officiating. Burial will take place at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone. No visitation hours will be held.
Arrangements are entrusted to King Memorial Home, Mentone, and Hartzler Funeral Services.
