Mary Joan Knepp, 84, Bremen, passed away at 5:16 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, in her home. She was born on June 29, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Zeno and Mary (Hoover) Miller. On July 2, 1950, in North Liberty, she was united in marriage to Richard J. Knepp.
Mrs. Knepp is survived by her husband: Richard J. Knepp; two daughters: Carol S. Knepp, Bremen; and Deb L. (Clyde) Cartwright, Plymouth; two grandchildren: Rebecca (Merle) Ramsey; and Clyde Cartwright, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister: Betty Jean Roberts, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; and brother: Marvin Miller, Calif.
Mrs. Knepp was a lifelong area resident. She worked as a bookkeeper at 1st Source Bank, retiring in 1994 after forty years of service. She was a member of County Line Brethren Church.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 2, at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville.
Contributions in memory of Mary Joan Knepp may be offered to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, South Bend.
