Jackie Dean Ray, 76, Plymouth, passed away at 4:36 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Jackie was born on May 5, 1940, in Orleans, the son of the late Ralph and Margaret (Therman) Ray. On April 26, 1993, he married Garnet Rose Nick.

She survives, along with their 12 children: Toni (Steve) Orton, Elkhart; Rick Weston, North Liberty; Tom (Judy) Weston, Plymouth; Janet (George) Talos, Goshen; Damon Scott Ray, Glendale, Ariz.; Cheryl (Melvin) Hochstetler, Bremen; Kenneth (Vanessa) Smith, Yukon, Okla.; Deb Steinbauer, Union, Mich.; Rodney (Michelle) Smith, Bremen; Jim (Debbie) Smith, Bremen; Brent Younger, Washington DC; and Tracy (Wade) Kertai, Bremen. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jackie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked for the Spinkler Fitters Union #669. His hobbies included going to auctions, and traveling on hunting trips with friends. A private family service will be held. Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen is assisting with arrangements.
