Warsaw Baseball: Tigers Top Central
ELKHART – The Warsaw baseball team tuned up for postseason play with a win Monday night.
The Tigers ended the regular season on a high note with a 10-7 win at Elkhart Central.
Junior Henry Howard continued his recent power surge by belting a three-run homer to lead the offense for coach Mike Hepler’s Tigers.
Warsaw had 11 hits in the win, while the hosts had nine. Each team committed one errors.
The trio of Zach Witt, Liam Patton and Braxton Tennant each had two hits for the Tigers.
Senior Justin Kerschner notched the pitching win for Warsaw.
The Warsaw junior varsity beat Central 18-2 to finish its season at 8-15-1.
The Tiger varsity, which earned a share of the NLC title last week, closes out the regular season at 14-11. Warsaw will face Penn Thursday night in the Class 4-A Penn Sectional at approximately 7 p.m. The Kingsmen, who are ranked No. 6, are the Class 4-A defending state champions.
