COHOES, N.Y. — New York waitress got a huge surprise when she went to pick up the check.

One regular customer at ‘The Breakfast Spot’ left Becky Nielsen a tip for almost $80.

News10 reached out to Becky who said she was very touched by what the customer had done for her and was almost brought to tears by a note that read “life is short, a friend of mine died last night. Please enjoy a night with someone you love!”

Nielsen said she plans on spending the money in the spirit it was given. She said possibly she’ll take her boyfriend out to dinner or buy a round of drinks for her friends.

Becky did not get the chance to thank the customer, who left before she could find the receipt.
