Wawasee Sports

Golf

The boys golf team concluded its conference slate Thursday night by splitting with Northridge and Goshen. The host Raiders shot a 157 at Meadow Valley, besting Wawasee’s 180 and Goshen’s 199.

Jeffrey Moore led Wawasee with a 42, Cal Heinisch signed for a 43 while Kyle Weideman (47), Cameron Adams (48) and Dillon Drake (53) rounded out the score for the Warriors.

Northridge’s Austin Schmidt was the match medalist with a 38.

The Northern Lakes Conference tournament will be held this Saturday at McCormick Creek.

Varsity Baseball

In a continuation of a game started on May 9, Wawasee fell 5-0 to NorthWood on the diamond. The game picked up in the fourth inning in which the Warriors got out of a bases loaded jam.

NorthWood scored in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Wawasee was led offensively Lucas Garza who was 2-3 at the plate.

Wawasee (6-19-1, 1-13) will play Lakeland on Saturday.

C-team Baseball

Wawasee’s C-team enjoyed a 10-2 win over Concord Thursday night.

Dane Jenkins pitched a complete game for the Warriors while Sam Savage and Austin Dunithan were both listed as having doubles.

Wawasee in now 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in NLC play.
