Tippy Valley SportsAKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley softball team closed out conference play Wednesday night.

The host Vikings dropped a 13-9 final to Peru in a Three Rivers Conference contest.

Peru built a 13-3 lead, highlighted by a six-run fourth innings, and then held off a late charge by Valley. The Vikings scored six runs in their final two at-bats.

Kaitlyn Ott led the offense for the Vikings with three hits and four RBI.

Katie Gunter had two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs for Valley. Amanda Shepherd had three hits and Abby Betten two hits and two RBI.

Kayla Scott took the pitching loss for the Vikings.

Valley drops to 7-14 overall and finishes at 1-8 in TRC action.

The Vikings host Warsaw Friday in the regular-season finale. Valley will then play NorthWood Monday night in the second game of the Class 3-A Fairfield Sectional.
