BREMEN – Triton now knows who it will play Thursday in the semi-finals of the Bremen Girls Tennis Sectional.
The host Lions had no trouble bouncing LaVille, 5-0, in Wednesday’s opening round, setting up a rematch with Triton Thursday. Kylie Philips, Liz Lawmaster and Nicole Tomlinson lost just three games total in the singles courts who both of Bremen’s doubles teams gave up just five games in its two wins.
Bremen handed Triton its only regular season loss as Triton enters the tournament at 13-1 overall.
On the other half of the bracket is Plymouth and John Glenn. Plymouth is the defending champion and is seeking its 31st overall title. Bremen won the title back in 2014 and is seeking its 11th title. Triton hasn’t won a title since 2004 and will be seeking its fifth title. John Glenn has never won a sectional title.
Play at Bremen’s DeSantis Courts at Sunnyside Park begins at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for the semis and 4:30 p.m. Friday for the finals.
