Michael W. Urschel, 53, Silver Lake, died at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born January 12, 1963, in Huntington, to Glenn and Dorcas (Paul) Urschel.

He graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School in 1981 and attended University of Arizona. He served in the Army National Guard and worked in construction in Tucson, Ariz. He loved animals and most especially his cat, Neko. He was a history fanatic and was lovingly referred to as “Professor.”

He is survived by his father and stepmother: Glenn and Connie Urschel, Tucson, Ariz.; his mother and stepfather: Dorcas and LeRoy Bishop, North Manchester; sister: Annette Urschel, Silver Lake; aunt: Norma (Lonny) Ripplinger, Tucson, Ariz.; three stepbrothers; and six stepsisters.

Family and friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Pastor Russell Reahard will officiate.
