Vincent J. Jankauskis, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse. He was born in Chicago, Ill. on July 19, 1925, the son of Joseph and Agatha Jankauskis.

Vincent was honorably discharged from the United States Army and was an avid trainer and breeder of German Shepherds. Vincent retired as a Retail Administrator from Sears Roebuck Company in Mishawaka. He was a long time resident of Ligonier, in Noble County, where he enjoyed sports especially the Chicago Blackhawks. His favorite pastime was to frequent fast food establishments, coffee shops and scoot about town.

He is survived by his niece: Marianne Busch, Tinley Park, Ill.; Flores and Moser Families, both of Ligonier; Vince’s good friends at Miller’s Merry Manor, andmany other acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Agatha; wife of many years: Bernice Billiter; stepdaughter and son-in-law: Carolyn (Willie) Elza; sister: Ann Kasputis.

A funeral service will be held in Mr. Jankauskis’s honor at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier, with Pastor Michael Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier. Friends may call upon the funeral home from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
