WARSAW – It was a miserable morning made more miserable by the outcome of Saturday’s baseball game. Fort Wayne Carroll posted a dime in the third inning as part of a 17-4 win at Warsaw Saturday morning.
With rain turning to sleet midway through the game, Carroll showed no affect of the conditions by cracking 14 hits.
Warsaw managed just three hits in the game, two by Jordan Steffensmeier and one from Sterling Hay.
Braxton Tennant took the loss for Warsaw.
The Tigers now sit at 10-9 on the season and get back into Northern Lakes Conference play Monday with a game against Concord. Warsaw is tied with Plymouth and Northridge at 8-4 in the NLC, all a half-game behind NorthWood (8-3). Warsaw closes the NLC Thursday at home against Memorial.
