Betty R. Lacher, 82, formerly of Plymouth, passed away at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in the Signature Healthcare of Bremen.
Betty was born in Donaldson, on Dec. 21, 1933, to John C. and Ada Ethel (Fink) Livinghouse. She graduated from West High School, and served as the West High Alumni Secretary of her class for over 40 years.
On Nov. 26, 1954, in Plymouth, Betty married Robert Eugene Lacher. To this union came three boys: Bruce, Brian and Brent. Robert would precede her in death on June 15, 1984.
Together, they ran Lacher’s Tin Shop. Betty handled the clerical work of their business. After they sold their company, Betty worked for the Bremen Corporation for ten years.
Betty was a 25 year member of the Women of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the VFW Post 1162 Ladies Auxiliary. They were members of the Donaldson Evangelical United Brethren Church.
She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Linda) Lacher, South Bend; Brian (Jacki) Lacher, Bremen; and Brent (Sandi) Lacher, Bremen; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister: Doris (Leon) Dickson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters: Evelyn Sanford; Lillian Dunnick; Frances Ednicott; Pauline Cook; brothers: Lawrence; Daniel; Roy Livinghouse; and her good friend: Phil Saupe.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, in the funeral home with Pastor Steven Cox officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
