Marjorie “Marj” L. Baber, Warsaw, passed away at 9:59 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana with her family by her side. She was born on Jan. 3, 1931 to Maude Walker in Miami County.

On Dec. 24, 1952 in Denver, she married the love of her life Kenneth Baber ten days after their first date. She graduated from Chili High School where she enjoyed acting in school plays.

Marj loved people and interacting with customers daily while she worked at the Burger Dairy Store, CVS both in Warsaw and as an owner of Baber’s Kwik -Way in Atwood. She was an avid animal lover and never turned a stray away that came to her door. When she wasn’t busy working around the house she enjoyed the lights and sounds of the casino.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Baber of Warsaw; her children: Gerry Baber, Warsaw; Teresa (and spouse John) Calhoun, Warsaw; and Tracy (and spouse Jim) Moyer, Atwood; eight grandchildren: Dustin Calhoun, Brianne Kendall, Bronson Baber, Branigan VanCleave, Brooklyn McKenzie, Trista Moyer, Christian Moyer and Braxton Baber; great grandchildren: Bennett, Connor and Kaiden McKenzie, Lily Kendell, Avery Sherman and Izabella VanCleave.    

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 11 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Taylor Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Harrison – Center Cemetery, Atwood.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the chapel.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, IN 46581-1906
