WARSAW — The KC Recycling Depot is having its annual Kosciusko County tire recycling collection from May 9-14. Fees will be $1 for car tires, $5 for truck tires and anywhere from $15-$40 for tractor tires. Kosciusko County Municipalities may call to schedule a drop off time, at (574) 372-3087. More information and drop off times may be found here. The Depot is located at 220 S. Union Street.

Tire Recycling Facts:

• Over 290 million tires are discarded in the US each year.
• Whole tires take up a lot of space in the landfill and have a tendency to float and damage the landfill liners.
• Tires left outdoors collect rainwater and become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
• Recycled tires can be made into mulch, asphalt, floor mats, animal mats, running tracks and even back drops for shooting ranges.
