INDIANAPOLIS – A trio of area senior student-athletes have been honored with scholarships from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association it was announced Tuesday.

The IBCA awards scholarships of $750 each to 40 seniors from across the Hoosier state.

Chosen as recipients of the Marion Crawley Awards were Kurtis Hochstetler of Northridge, Brad Ackerman of Goshen and Matt Benedict of Columbia City.

The criteria for the awards includes achievement in basketball, achievement in academics, participation in extracurricular activities and service to one’s school and community.

Marion Crawley was the first executive director of the IBCA and won four state championships as a basketball coach.
