MONROE – Whitko pushed across a run in the top of the ninth to get past Adams Central, 5-4, Friday evening.

Zach Hewitt had three hits and scored a run to lead Whitko, which needed three runs in the top of the seventh just to get to extra frames. Drew Bradford and Tanner Gaff combined for four hits, four runs driven in and two stolen bases.

Landen Goff added a double for the Wildcats.

Hunter Sroufe got the win in relief, working 3.2 innings of scoreless ball, giving up just two hits.

Brett Funk and Blake Bauman each had two hits and stolen base for the Jets.

Whitko (8-4) will visit Bluffton Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m.
