WARSAW —  The 2016 American Cancer Society Relay for Life is planned to start at noon Saturday, May 21, and ending midnight Sunday, May 22. Kosciusko Community Hospital is sponsoring and participating in the event that will take place at Central Park, 119 East Canal Street, in downtown Warsaw.

At Relay For Life, community members come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds raised make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year.

“Annually, an enthusiastic team from the KCH Cancer Care Center including family and friends participate in this community event because we understand the medical and personal fight that local cancer patients experience from initial diagnosis through treatment. We stand in solidarity with local cancer patients, celebrate the successes when someone is cured, and mourn when someone is taken by the disease. This is why our staff is so passionate about Relay for Life,” said Dr. Musaberk Goksel, KCH Cancer Care Center medical director.

Multiple Relay for Life teams walk the track at Central park for 12 hours. Each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times. For further information about the Relay for Life event contact the KCH Cancer Care Center at (574) 372-3800 and ask for Kim Lewark.
