Tiger Tennis Makes It A Clean Sweep

Picking up its first win of the season, Warsaw pounded potential sectional foe Columbia City 5-0 Thursday afternoon at the Tiger Tennis Complex.

Both Liza Lewis at one singles and Ella Knight at three singles won in clean sweeps of Hannah Behm and Megan Stephenson. The one doubles team of Athena Schlitt and Hannah Rice also won in shutout fashion against Katie Weigel and Mackenzie Lane.

Colette Smith won three and love over Hannah Clark at two singles and at two doubles, Rosie Fleming and Chelsey Farling cleaned up against Leah Mills and Jayma Acres one and one.

The Warsaw junior varsity were equally potent, blanking City 11-0. Results were as follows:

Warsaw will host its Varsity Tennis Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

Huntington Shuts Out Tiger Baseball

The Tiger nine took one on the chin Thursday, falling 10-0 at Huntington North.

Huntington collected 10 hits in its attack, and limited Warsaw to just one hit in the contest. Warsaw committed two errors and left five on base in the game.

Braxton Tennant was the losing pitcher for the Tigers.

In the JV game, Huntington was in control with an 11-1 final. Brandon Perry had two hits for the Tigers.

Warsaw (0-2) will turn around and play again Friday at Columbia City.
