wawasee-high-schoolSYRACUSE — Wawasee High School string orchestra will present an “informal” spring concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the high school auditorium.

The string orchestra, under the direction of Joyce Dubach, will play selections from George Phillip Telemann’s Don Quixote Suite. This early piece of Baroque program music depicts events in the life of Cervantes’ famous knight, Don Quixote, including falling in love with a local farm girl he imagines to be a fair princess, undertaking quests of gallantry with his “squire,” Sancho Panza, and attacking windmills he believes are giants in disguise.

Also on the program is the contemporary string number “Gemini,” by American composer Francis L. Feese.

The concert is free. For more information, call (574) 457-3147.
