Vera Lucille (Ross) Dodd, 90, Columbia City, passed away at 7:19 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Parkview Whitley, Columbia City.

Mrs. Dodd was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Benton County, a daughter of Earnie P. and Bertha (Zolman) Cripe. She spent her formative years in Whitley and DeKalb Counties.

March 3, 1942, she was married to Frank A. Ross. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1993. She was married to Don Dodd Jan. 2, 1994. She then moved from Columbia City to Constantine, Mich. After his death Aug. 13, 2009, she returned to Columbia City.

The surviving relatives include son, James P. (Leathie) Ross, Columbia City; two daughters-in-law, Linda Ross, Fountain, Colo., and Becky Ross, Columbia City; a brother, Delbert (Shirley) Cripe, Columbia City; nine grandchildren; 17great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by her two sons: Frank E. Ross and Perry F. Ross; six sisters: Opal Johnston, Elizabeth Boggs, Dorothy Dodd, Mildred Brumbaugh, Margaret Striegle and Beverly Summers; six brothers: Eugene Cripe, Edgar Cripe, Earnie V. Cripe, Alfred Cripe, Robert Cripe and Charles Cripe; and two infant sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
