Several area high school softball teams, including Triton, are among those ranked in this week’s coaches’ polls.

Triton is ranked No. 10 in the Class 1-A poll. The Trojans, who lost to South Central in a Class 1-A regional game in 2015, are scheduled to open their season today (April 6) at John Glenn.

Bremen and Penn are both ranked No. 1 in their respective classes. Bremen is the top team in Class 2-A, while Penn sits atop the Class 4-A poll.

South Bend St. Joseph is No. 3 in the Class 3-A poll. Mishawaka Marian is No. 5 and New Prairie No. 9 among 3-A teams. Fairfield is an honorable mention selection in the Class 3-A poll.

CLASS 1-A
