WARSAW — As part of the YMCA’s focus on social responsibility, the Y wants to offer the community opportunities to give back and serve their neighbors. Togetherhood is the Y’s signature program for social responsibility and invites Y members to lead and participate in volunteer service projects that benefit the community where they live.

The next Togetherhood project will be Saturday, April 23, serving Y members who, due to medical issues or other life circumstance, might have trouble with home maintenance.

This might involve indoor cleaning, moving furniture, washing windows or may be raking or preparing garden beds outdoors. The Y is looking for 30-40 volunteers, you do not have to be a member to volunteer. Register at the Welcome Center for the Y Member Day of Caring from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 23.

The Kosciusko Community YMCA will also be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23. The drive will be at their Parkview Warsaw YMCA location on Mariners Drive in the Parkview Center for Healthy Living in the lobby. Sign up for an appointment here. Walk-ins will also be accepted.

CPR classes will be offered to the community at 5:30-8:30 p.m. May 17 or June 7. If you need CPR certification for a job or you just want to be more prepared to handle an emergency you can sign up for this American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR class. The class will teach adult, child and infant CPR and AED use. This three-hour class provides a two-year certification. Contact the Welcome Center to register by May 14 or June 4. There is a cost for participation and certification.

Registration for these special events is going on now at the North Webster or the Parkview Warsaw YMCA branch or online.
