Ann Vandyke has been helping with the popular children’s programs at the Syracuse Library. Spring story time is in full swing with song activities, a healthful tea, and a wind blowing nursery rhyme that the children in the picture demonstrate.

SYRACUSE — The Syracuse Library is joining other local libraries in announcing that Friday, April 15, is the date for the annual big show for reading. Professor Steve is bringing an exciting electricity show to demonstrate and explain electrical power. The Wawasee High School gym will open for seating at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. The other cooperating libraries are Milford Public, North Webster Community, and Wawasee Middle and High School Libraries, along with, the Wawasee Middle School, Syracuse Elementary, North Webster Elementary, and Milford School PTOs.

During spring break week the Friends of the Syracuse Public Library have their monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 7. The Friends are wrapping up their year with a members and volunteers tea in May. Memberships will come due in June. Members are presented information about technology in the Syracuse Library at each monthly meeting. The group looks forward to welcoming new people to the group. Call the Syracuse Library at (574) 457-3022 for questions about programs.

Regularly scheduled children’s programs continue through the week. Board games and coloring pages are available for families that are in town. The library purchases a dozen new movies each month, so spring break week could be a good time to catch up on new movies.
