Hershell Shepherd, 74, of rural Warsaw, passed at 2:14 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne.

He was born on Jan. 21, 1942, in Hite, Ky., to Woots and Anna Mae (Scarberry) Shepherd. He was married on Oct. 31, 1960, in Drift, Ky. to Frankie Mullins, who passed on Nov. 3, 2005.

He was a farm manager for Creighton Brothers for almost 40 years. Hershell loved working on cars and enjoyed westerns and fishing.

Survivors include daughters: Margaret (Michael) Case, Printer, Ky.; Jane (George) Meade, Warsaw; Sue Shepherd, Warsaw; son: Arthur Shepherd, Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother. He was preceded in death by his wife: Frankie Shepherd; parents: Woots and Anna Mae Shepherd; four brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, before the 1 p.m. service on Thursday, also at the memorial home. Pastor Dean Ealey will officiate. Burial will be at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.

Memorial donations are open to the donor’s choice of charity.
