Glendel Leigh Price, Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 6 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Grace Village Health Care at the age of 80.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past five years where she was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church in Winona Lake, Indiana. Glendel retired after working as a teacher’s assistant in an elementary school in Hernando, Fla. She loved her children, especially her grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
She was born on May 13, 1935, in Kellys Creek, Kanawha County, W. Va. to Denver Lester Melton and Anna May (Carney) Melton. On Sept. 3, 1955, she was married to Bernard Austin Price, Jr., and shared 56 years together before he passed away on Jan. 22, 2012.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Lorie (James) Brown, Md.; Stacey (William) Miller, Warsaw; two grandsons: Timothy (Melissa) Miller, N.C.; Jake Brown, Va.; two granddaughters: Jocelyn (Lief) Lieberg, Calif.; Chandler Miller, Warsaw; two great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Asher Miller, N.C.; brother: Eddie (Dora) Melton, Conn.; and two sisters: Essie (Gene) Helmic, W. Va.; Carole (Clay) Lamb, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Dayton Melton.
Friends and family can gather between 3-5 p.m. Saturday, April 2, in the courtyard of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake, to celebrate her life.
She will be buried alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. at a later day. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
