Robert W. Screes, 57, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Robert was born on Sept. 15, 1958, in South Bend, to William and Kathryn (Strantz) Screes.

Robert is survived by his mother: Kathryn Screes, Granger; his son: William (Ashley) Screes, Bremen; his granddaughter: Aniela Screes; his brother: Michael (Christine) Screes, South Bend; his special friend: Barbara Vernon; his former spouse and good friend: Theresa Magnus; aunts: Betty Strantz; Marge Strantz; and Jodie Screes OP; his niece: Rebecca (Ben) Zajeski; and nephew: Ryan Screes. He will be missed by his cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father: William R. Screens; his grandparents: Russell and Valerie Screes; and Anton and Catherine Strantz.

Bob worked as a Quality Control Inspector in the manufacturing industry for many companies in the South Bend area for most of his professional life. He was a devoted Green Bay Packer and Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed attending the games with his father, brother and son over the years. Bob had a kind, gentle and compassionate heart and a boisterous laugh. Above all, he loved God and spending quality time with his family.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend. Graveside services will take place at Highland Cemetery.
