WARSAW — Nine Lincoln Elementary School students in two divisions competed at the State Team Chess Finals on Saturday, March 19.

One team, called the Lions, placed seventh place out of 54 teams, scoring a total of 4.5 out of 6 points in the Third and Under division. Aslan Oliver scored a perfect 6 and 0 on board four. The teammates were Shuruthi Muthiah, Jamie Haynes-Bright. Theo Crabtree and Ashlan Oliver.

The other students were playing in the Sixth and Under division placed 26th out of 42 teams. The teammates were Max Vinkemeier, David Howard, Nolan Anderson, Ashton Harvey and Aidan Shepard.
