Phyllis WintereggPhyllis A. Winteregg, 87, Berne, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on May 31, 1928, in Adams County, to the late Otto and Verna E. (Owens) Hoffman. On Oct. 4, 1946, she married Doyle M. Winteregg; he preceded her in death on June 23, 2012.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Berne. She and her late husband, Doyle were co-owners of the Poplar Drive-In for 21 years with LaMar and Joan Winteregg. She was a homemaker and also worked for Economy Printing and Parkway Restaurant.

Phyllis is survived by two sons: Terry L. (Kathy) Winteregg, Warsaw; Randy W. (Diane) Winteregg, Berne; brother: Charles ‘Chuck’ (Eileen) Hoffman, Sun City, Ariz.; two sisters: Dorothy Beeler, Decatur; Virginia Gase, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda A. Rasawehr, on Oct. 6, 2014; and three brothers: Dale; Kenny; and Tom Hoffman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, in the Swiss Village Auditorium with visitation three hours prior from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Randy Perry and burial will take place in the M.R.E. Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Swiss Village Samaritan Fund or Trinity United Methodist Church.
