WARSAW — A Winona Lake Police Officer and his K-9 partner were transported following a rear-end collision at East Center Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Joseph D. Bumbaugh, 54, Park Avenue, Winona Lake, was eastbound on Center Street, attempting to merge into traffic, when a 2002 Jeep driven by Moriah Young, 27, Clinic Court, Warsaw, rear-ended it.

Young stated she was watching traffic to her left and did not see that Bumbaugh’s vehicle had slowed to merge.

Bumbaugh was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of neck pain. His K-9 partner was transported to Lake City Animal Clinic for medical attention.

Officers found Young’s vehicle registration to be false and fictitious.

Damage is estimated up to $25,000.
