Morris E. Cook, 85, North Manchester, died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1931, to Albert Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Funderburgh) Cook, in North Manchester. He married Evelyn Lucile (Coning) on Nov. 4, 1951, and she survives. He worked as a carpet cleaner at Cook’s Carpet Care which he started in 1953.

Morris is survived by his wife; sons: Philip (Betty) Cook, Athens, Wis.; Stuart (Catharine) Cook, North Manchester; daughters: Maribeth Cook, North Manchester; Sylvia (Stephen) Callaway, North Manchester; brother: Everett (Beverely) Cook, North Manchester; sisters: Catherine Rockwell, North Manchester; Rachel Graybill, Wakarusa; Ethel (Bud) Lewis, North Manchester; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four brothers-in-law; Delbert Rockwell; Dennis Graybill; Richard Coning; Charlie Brubaker; Herman Coning; and Leon Metzger; and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, also at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester, officiated by Home Brethren, and burial will be at the Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. McKee Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
