CULVER – Tippecanoe Valley got a chance to put in some work indoors Tuesday, working a track mini at Culver Academy. The unscored meet had partial teams from Valley work against some area competitors ahead of the outdoor season.

Jared Mikel had a good showing in the 440-yard dash, taking honors at 1:01.60 and was third in the 45-yard high hurdles at 7.00. Dakota Parker also had a pair of top fives, taking second in the 220-yard dash at 26.00 and fourth in the 40-yard dash at 5.10.

Gavin Good was fourth in the long jump at 18-09.75 and Will Hassenplug was fifth in shot put at 37-07.

The Valley girls also had several finishing among the top five in events, led by Makayla Ruiz in shot put, sending her best throw 32-01 to land the furthest of all competitors.

Lexi O’Connell took second in the 45-yard high hurdles at 6.90, the duo of Jalyssa House (30.5) and Sarah Tucker (30.5) were second and third in the 220-yard dash and Tucker was also fourth in the 40-yard dash at 5.60.

Haley Hoover was fourth in the mile run at 6:32.90 and Anna Walters was fifth in the 880-yard run at 3:00.00.

Tippecanoe Valley will take to the outdoor season circuit next Tuesday with a trip to NorthWood.
