Registration Open For Flag Football League
WARSAW – Registration for the 2016 season of the NFL Flag Football League is underway.
The league, which is conducted by the WCHS football program, is open to players in grades 3-6. The goal of the league is to provide an alternative to traditional youth tackle football that is safe, fundamentally sound, fun, and in-line with the changing dynamics of the sport.
The youth football program takes place at WCHS on Saturdays beginning August 13th and will conclude on October 1st. All players will learn to block and tackle in controlled situations with the emphasis of keeping the head out of the game. Players will also learn to throw, run with, and catch the ball in competitive situations.
All area athletes are welcome to participate. The cost to register is $25 and will be collected the first week of the league. The registration fee includes a reversible jersey, flags, and memberships for players/parents for USA Football.
The league is run by members of the WCHS football coaching staff, along with players from the team.
Parents can register their children by going to https://www.nflflag.com/form/player and choose Warsaw Tigers NFL Flag from the drop down menu.
Any questions related to registration should be directed to Warsaw coach Phil Jensen at [email protected] or League Director Nik Vilamaa at [email protected].
