Grace Track Trio Strong At Indoor Nationals
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – A trio of competitors from the Grace College track and field program wrapped up their performance at the 2016 NAIA Indoor Nationals on Friday.
All three Lancers achieved finishes in the top 11 of the nation in a strong display.
“I’m very happy overall with our indoor season. Having three individuals finish in the top 11 at nationals was a solid way to end up,” said Grace head coach Jeff Raymond. “The team will get back to work next week and start preparing for outdoor season.”
Nathan Brown had Grace’s top finish. He spent two days representing Grace in the heptathlon, finishing ninth with a point total of 4703.
Freshman Jamie Annis took on the 60-meter hurdles and crossed the finish line in 9.06 seconds. Her time in the prelims was good for 11th place.
Jo Boren ran in the 400 race. She produced a season-best time of 58.54 seconds to finish 11th nationally.
The Lancers will open up the outdoor season in Indianapolis on March 19 at the Butler Bulldog Opener.
