Dorothy K. Martin, 98, affectionately known by “Mimi” to all, passed away peacefully at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in Signature Health Care of Bremen.
Mimi was born on August 17, 1917, the daughter of the late Verl and Matilda (Barnhart) Andrews. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married Raymond H. Martin. He passed away on January 13, 1989.
Mimi is survived by two children: Joe (Nancy) Martin, Syracuse; and Judy (Andy) Baker, Bremen; six grandchildren: Joe (Jennifer) Martin Jr., Syracuse; Tammy (Bruce) Sisk, Bremen; Tim (Laura) Martin, Salt Lake City, Utah; Betsy (Geoff) Jankowski, Bremen; Mickey (Derek) Hoffer, Plymouth; Chad (Lisa) Baker, Bremen; nine great-grandchildren: Kelly; Drew; Ali; Lauren; Jake; Brooke; Macy; Josie; Emily; and two great-great-grandchildren: Memphis; and Harrison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Doris Eastland; and two brothers: Floyd and Don Andrews.
Mimi was the oldest member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen at the time of her passing. She was very active in the church and was a member of the Ladies Bible Study Group and the Sewing Circle.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the funeral home with Pastor Neil Wonnacott officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen.
